The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, has dedicated the certificate of completion from a leadership and human-capacity training at the prestigious Queen’s University, Canada, to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Adigun made the dedication during the grand finale of the two-week study tour in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a programme fully sponsored by the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development.
He was among a selected group of young leaders from across the state who benefitted from the state-sponsored international training designed to sharpen leadership skills, enhance civic engagement, and broaden global perspectives.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Adigun expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for what he described as “an invaluable investment” in the development of Lagos youth.
The youth council leader also acknowledged the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, for their support in making the opportunity a reality.
“This is not just a certificate, it’s a symbol of the Governor’s unwavering belief in Lagos youth. I dedicate this to Mr. Governor, our supportive commissioner, and every Lagos youth working hard to make the state proud. It is important that I acknowledge my boss and mentor, Hon. Rasaq Ajala for his support over this years; this success is as a result of belief in my potentials,” Adigun said.
He further pledged to translate the knowledge and experience gained during the tour into meaningful action for youth empowerment and development back home.
