Hundreds of Children in Ilupeju Community and its environs were, on Saturday, treated to a memorable celebration to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day.
The event organised by Ilupeju Youth Forum was held at Kossy Bethel Primary School, Ilupeju, and it featured several exciting activities such as bouncy castles, games, dance competition, distributions of gifts among others.
According to the convener, Comrade Farouq Dolapo Olayinka, the event, being the fourth of its kind, was put together to plan smiles on the faces of the youngsters in a bid to foster familiarity, love and unity.
He described the kids as the hope and pride of tomorrow hence the need to prioritize that upbringing and ensure that have a memorable childhood.
Olayinka recalled the efforts made into sustaining the program over the years and appreciated fellow executives of the organization as well as well-meaning individuals in the community and organizations such as Kellogg’s, Ilusec Alumni, among others for their efforts and unwavering commitment.
He expressed delight that this year’s edition was a lot better as all the kids who trooped out in their hundreds had fun and went home with mouthwatering prizes even as he assured that next year’s edition will be greater.
Turning to the parents who had accompanied their wards to the event, Olayinka urged them to prioritize instilling morals and societal values in their kids as mandated by Almighty God in the holy books adding that the future rests on their shoulders.
