The Executive Director of Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola has paid homage to the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Adejuwon Faronbi-Shekoni Mobadenle Arolagbade Alagbeji III on his ascension to the exalted throne.

Akintola who led a delegation of the group’s top officials, alongside his spouse, Aminat Anisere-Akintola to formally congratulate the monarch recently described Oba Faronbi-Shekoni’s emergence as well-deserved as he extolled his virtues.

The religious scholar and Muslim rights advocate described the traditional ruler a man of impeccable character whose love for Isolo and quest for development is inspiring.

Speaking to newsmen on the sideline of his visit, Akintola said: “I’ve known him (Osolo) for quite sometime. I know he’s a businessman, I’ve never seen him with anything that is untoward. He is honest, he’s diligently. He is patriotic. He loves Nigeria with all his heart. Lagos is his priority and of course, Isolo. He speaks of Isolo with all his heart like he’s talking of his children.

“He wants progress and peace for this town as well as prosperity and jobs. If you hear him talk about Youths in Isolo, you’ll think he’s planning a factory somewhere and nobody will be jobless. That was long before he became the king and I was elated when he became the king despite his limited resources and that was one of the reasons why I’ve decided to support him.”

The Islamic scholar dismissed the defamation and legal tussle that have trailed Oba Faronbi-Shekoni’s installation as he called on his traducers and rivals to bury their hatchet and join hands with the monarch to take Isolo forward.

His words: “The legal tussle that sprang up after his installation is as a result of fabricated stories. Why didn’t they bring it up before they started the kingship process. It means they have skeleton in their cupboards and it means that they only what to besmirch his personality. Osolo is a clean man of impeccable character. He’s hardworking. He’s not a holigan and doesn’t control thugs.

“My advise to his rivals is to let bygone be bygone. Isolo is a large family and great city and it can get greater if they all come together by burying their hatchets and I’ll urge Kabiyesi to bring those who rivaled him and seat down together to do what needs to be done to move Isolo forward in the interest of the children and their great great grandfathers in Isolo.”

Earlier in his remarks, Oba-Faronbi appreciated the Islamic group for their visit as he assured of his commitment to promote religious peace and tolerance in Isolo kingdom.
