Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (rtd) on Friday thumbed up the chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku for the council’s preparedness for the 2025 local council polls.
Okikiolu-Ighile gave the commendation when she led LASIEC’s team on a visit to the council area as part of its assessment tour ahead of the election.
She emphasized that the visit aimed to assess logistical readiness and strengthen collaboration with council administrations to enhance grassroots electoral processes adding that the commission is committed to conducting credible elections across all 57 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State.
She noted that LASIEC had deployed increased manpower and logistical support to ensure a seamless exercise.
She however tasked the council boss to intensify its efforts on voter education and stakeholder engagement, stressing that increased civic awareness would lead to higher voter participation.
She expressed confidence in a credible and peaceful electoral process, assuring residents of LASIEC’s dedication to fairness and transparency.
In response, the Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku commended LASIEC for its proactive approach and efforts to ensure a smooth election.
After leading the team on an inspection of the LASIEC office, he reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting LASIEC’s requirements for free and fair elections. He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for LCDAs’ development.
The Executive Chairman was joined in receiving the visiting entourage by the SLG, Hon Olaide John Bello, Hon Lekan Peters, Council Manager, Engr Bunmi Akintoye, Council Treasurer, Mr Oladapo Ibrahim, Council Engineer, Mr Adetola Akeju and Council Auditor, Mr Dosunmu.
