In a bid to further solidify his ongoing strategic engagements with relevant officials and government stakeholders in Lagos state, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, on Wednesday led other state executives and officials on a working visit to Hon. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, the Special Adviser on Housing to the State Governor.

The meeting was facilitated by the youth body’s Directorate of Housing.

Addressing his host, Adigun explained that the meeting had become crucial to fostering a mutual relationship and exploring possible collaborations between NYCN and the Ministry to tackle the challenges of youth housing.

Adigun emphasized that the youth umbrella body is always ready to complement the government’s initiatives in all sectors to address any socio-economic issues.

“We appreciate this wonderful opportunity, as it is one of many we had looked forward to after our official meeting with the State Governor last month. We believe that a lot still needs to be done to foster beneficial relationships and showcase how our structure can be useful in promoting and solidifying government efforts.

“As a youth body, we believe that we have what it takes not only to promote government policies but also to complement impactful initiatives of the government to permanently solve socio-economic issues such as housing, which is the impetus behind this visit,” Adigun remarked.

Om her part, Hon. Odunuga-Bakare expressed her delight at hosting the youth leadership and lauded Adigun for his tireless efforts in effectively representing the youth, as well as the numerous initiatives carried out by his administration to productively engage the youths.

She have assurances of her willingness to further uphold Governor Sanwo-Olu’s policy on youth inclusiveness, adding that her office is open to collaboration with the youth body.

Adigun’s team for the historic visit included other state executive members, leadership from the Directorate of Housing, and coordinators from several local branches, among others.
