Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has expressed optimism in securing victory in 2027 gubernatorial election if he seeks to extend his reign till 2031.

Fubara said this during a solidarity visit on Tuesday from representatives of the three Local Government Areas that make up the Kalabari Ethnic Nationality, where he acknowledged the overwhelming support he has received for his hands-on and audacious leadership.

The delegation formally endorsed him for re-election, commending his governance style and dedication to infrastructure development, particularly the ongoing ₦200 billion Trans-Kalabari road project.

However, Fubara emphasized that his administration’s focus is more on creating a lasting impact in the state rather than seeking re-election. He added that his goal remains to improve the state’s future rather than simply holding office longer.
