Ojodu LCDA in collaboration with the Office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Lagos State, has launched a Financial Inclusion Programme to enhance financial literacy and economic empowerment for women in the council area.
The initiative aims to provide Point Of Sales (POS) Machines and cash through financial service providers Cowrywise and Opay and data management services by NIMC and LASRAA for not fewer that 60 women, equipping them with wealth management skills and access to financial services.
These partners emphasized the importance of financial inclusion in bridging economic gaps for underrepresented women.
The council chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, highlighted financial inclusion as a key driver of socioeconomic growth, while Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, stressed the role of data management in maximizing programme benefits.
On her part, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on SDGs, Mrs. Oreoluwa Finnih reaffirmed the government’s commitment to grassroots financial empowerment.
The programme aligns with SDG Goal 1 (No Poverty) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), promoting sustainable development through financial literacy.
