All is set for the grand graduation ceremony of the one thousand participants of the intensive vocational training program organized by the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr. Idiat Adebule.

The training, conducted in two phases, saw participants, mostly women and youths, acquiring comprehensive knowledge in various practical skills to address everyday societal needs, such as baking and confectionery, leatherwork, hairdressing, fashion design, and barbering.

Theliberationnews gathered that trainees were selected from across the 28 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) within the senatorial district.

The training, facilitated by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), combined theoretical learning with practical exercises to ensure that participants are competent to practice their trades and independently earn a living.

In a personally-signed press statement conveyed to invite dignitaries as obtained by Theliberationnews on Saturday, the federal lawmaker announced that the event billed to come up on Monday at The Blue Roof Pavilion, Lateef Jakande Rd., Ikeja, will feature distribution of necessary tools and equipment to the trainees to further help them advance their trades, foster individual growth and sustainably contribute to socio-economic development of the state.

“I am pleased to inform you, our esteemed leader that the training programme for 1000 Constituents in Five (5) Skills Area’s, Leather Work, Barbing, Fashion, Confectionary and Hairdressing have been concluded.

“Subsequently, the presentation of empowerment items to trainees with tools and equipment will hold on Monday the 18th of November, 2024. Items such as sewing machines, equator hairdryers, leather sewing machines, burners, gas cylinders and other cooking wares will be handed over to constituents. Counting that these deliberate interventions will assist our constituents to gradually build economic self-reliance that will reduce the poverty index of our State and Country,” the statement read.
