In order to solidify his efforts on infrastructural renewal in Ojodu LCDA, the council chairman, David Olusegun Odunmbaku has partnered Lagos State Government to construct a robust drainage system and culvert at the Ogba Bus Stop area of the council area.

The partnership is projected to effectively address the perennial flooding challenges at the Area G Ward.

In a press statement issued by Bello Akinkunmi Yakub, the Chief Press Secretary to the council boss, the project aimed to provide a lasting solution to the recurrent flooding, which has plagued residents and businesses in the area for years.

Ojodu LCDA is spearheading the construction of side drainage opposite the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) to Excellence Hotel, while the Lagos State Government is expected to build on the effort by constructing the cross culverts.

This collaborative effort is expected to facilitate the free flow of wastewater and ensure long-term durability once Ogunnusi Road, Ogba is reconstructed.

It was gathered that prior to striking the partnership, the council had through its Department of Environmental Services, recently carried out thorough desilting exercise on and around Ogba, Mokuolu Street and Sunday Market as well as the the environs of Area G Police Station.

Speaking during his site inspection exercise, Odunmbaku assured that the he is committed to delivering the project as scheduled and according to specifications adding that he will stop at nothing to improve basic infrastructures in the council area for the utmost advantage and convenience of the residents.
