The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim, MNSE, has hailed the appointment of Comrade Ayodele Olawande as the Minister for Youth Development.

Olawande, having previously served as a Minister of State for Youth Development, was among the 10 Federal Executive Council (FEC) members reassigned new ministerial portfolios by the president on Wednesday.

Reacting to the development, Adigun praised Olawande’s elevation, describing him as a round peg in a round hole given his impressive scorecard as a junior minister and his admirable potential.

“I am thrilled to, on behalf of the teeming youths of the ‘Centre of Excellence’, Lagos State, heartily congratulate the newly appointed Minister for Youth Development, Dr. Ayodele Olawande. His track record of dedication and commitment to youth development is commendable, and we are optimistic that he will continue to champion the interests of the youth at the national level.

“We look forward to his innovative approaches and policies that will empower and inspire our young people in Lagos and across the nation,” Adigun said.

The youth leader concluded by expressing confidence that Olawande would effectively address the challenges faced by Nigerian youth, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages participation and engagement in nation-building.
