Wale Adeniyi, Controller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has disclosed on Tuesday in Abuja that the service is to forfeit an estimated N188.37 billion in the six months within which the Tariff-free foods imports of President Bola Tinubu would be implemented.

Adeniyi disclosed this at an ongoing Public Lecture and Book Presentation of Economic Confedential in Abuja.

The Customs henchman described food security as a national security issue that required a well-coordinated approach from all stakeholders.

He disclosed that special corridors would be created to facilitate the clearance of the affected food items- including rice, maize and wheat.
