The Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim, MNSE, has lent his voice to the charge by Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for youths across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state to enroll for the Lagos Youth Upskilling Programme codenamed LAG-UP to digitize their skills and enjoy other benefits.

The LAG-UP Upskill Programme is an initiative of the state government aimed to arm youth and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with comprehensive support in areas such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, access to finance, mentorship, as well as placement for jobs and income generation opportunities.

Giving his charge in a press statement made available to Theliberationnews on Thursday, Adigun commended the youth ministry ably led by Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende for the laudable initiative harping on the need for youths across the state to maximize it to not only hone their skills but help them utilize their potentials optimally.

“The LAG-UP Program is yet another initiative of our youth-friendly state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu which offers a unique opportunity for us as youths to gain crucial digital skills and business acumen that will enhance our employability and entrepreneurial capabilities.

“In today’s fast-paced world, digital literacy is not just an asset but a necessity. The program is designed to bridge the gap between education and real-world application, providing practical skills that are highly valued in the job market. Indeed, it’s an initiative we need to make the most of.

“I encourage all young people in Lagos to take advantage of this program. By participating, you will not only improve your personal and professional skills but also contribute to the growth and development of our state’s economy. It’s on us to utilize opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed,” the statement read.
