The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended the Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon. Babatunde Johnson, for presenting a bus to the youth organization.
The presentation was made to the Orile-Agege local branch of the youth body on Thursday.
This presentation is part of the ongoing mega empowerment program at the council secretariat, where the council chairman is empowering a thousand individuals with N100,000 each.
The bus presentation, The Liberation News observed, comes on the heels of a recent cash support of N100,000 to no fewer than 24 members of the youth body in the council area, underscoring Johnson’s commitment to youth empowerment.
Reacting to the development, the state chapter of the youth body, ably led by Engr. Adigun Ibrahim, in a statement obtained by The Liberation News, commended the council chairman for the thoughtful gesture, which he said will aid youth activism in the council area.
Adigun praised Johnson for his unwavering dedication to supporting and uplifting the youth, noting that these initiatives significantly contribute to the development and well-being of the council area.
The state chapter also expressed optimism that Johnson’s remarkable efforts would inspire other council chairmen to take similar steps in enhancing the lives of youths in their respective areas.
“It feels great to see more chairmen keying into the youth development initiatives of the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Hon. Johnson’s gesture today will greatly complement Mr. Governor’s efforts in the lives of youths in Orile-Agege LCDA, and it is our belief that other council chairs will take a cue from this. We congratulate the executives of NYCN Orile-Agege local branch under the leadership of Comrade Adetunji Owokalade on this invaluable gift, and it is our hope that the operational vehicle will be put to judicious use,” the statement concluded.
