Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, senator representing Lagos West at the red chamber has distributed food items to residents across the 28 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the senatorial district ahead of the upcoming Eid-al-Adha celebration.
The senatorial office of the lawmaker along Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja GRA, Lagos was a beehive of activities on Thursday as residents drawn from various strata of the community trooped in to get their share of the largess.
Adebule emphasized that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the economic hardship faced by many families and ensuring that everyone could partake in the festivities. She reiterated her commitment to the welfare of her constituents, noting that such initiatives would be a regular feature of her tenure.
While addressing the crowd, Adebule, the lawmaker who was represented by Hon. Rasaq Ajala stated, “Eid-al-Adha is a time of giving and sharing. It is important that we support each other, especially in times of need. I am dedicated to serving you and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Lagos West.”
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the timely intervention, with many highlighting the impact of the rising cost of living on their daily lives. One beneficiary, Mrs. Shukra Abdulah, said, “This support means a lot to my family. It’s not just about the food items; it’s about the care and concern shown by our representative.”
The distribution exercise included not only bags of rice but cash gift, aimed at providing comprehensive relief to the beneficiaries.
