Oludayo Elebiju, a beneficiary of the aquaculture training facilitated by the distinguished senator representing Lagos West Senatorial district, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has made the program count by launching his business to become self-reliant.

Elebiju participated in the two-day training held at the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), Lagos alongside over 200 fish farming enthusiasts.

The exercise was aimed at empowering aspiring fish farmers with prerequisite knowledge about the business for self-sufficiency and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of the country.

At the end of the program which was held between December 27 to 28, 2023, the participants were empowered with N100,000 start up capital to pursue their aspirations.

Flying his business under Ibile Food, in a video obtained by Theliberationnews, Oludayo proudly displayed his organically grown catfishes which he said are ready for processing and final consumption.

Exclusively speaking with Theliberationnews, the budding fish farmer affirmed that the training empowered him with all the knowledge, exposure, and connection he needed to start a business of his own.

His words; “First and foremost, I would like to return all the glory to Almighty God for His wisdom and guidance. I would like to also use this opportunity to thank our mother, Senator Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule for the wonderful opportunity to learn more about aquaculture. It feels as though the program was organized because of me because it had proved to be all I needed to have a business of my own and because employer of labour.

“The training was intense and topnotch and even after that, we were supported with start-up capital. I’m grateful that I was able to make Mama’s effort count and I promise to pass this kind gesture on my training and opportunity up for fish farming enthusiasts,” Elebiju promised.

Speaking further, he disclosed that several others had also made the most of the training as he offered heartfelt prayer for Dr. Adebule’s continued success “I am not the only one who has gone fully into the business, there are a lot of others because we keep in touch and share ideas. May God continually bless Senator Adebule for the thoughtful idea of facilitating the training,” he prayed.

Elebiju’s ability to effectively utilise the training for his financial turnaround underscored the seriousness of Nigerian youths to become self-sufficient and be employers of labour if empowered and adequately supported.
