Dana Airline has made it known that it is processing refunds for its customers who already booked a flight for the next one month.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday and obtained by Theliberationnews.
The management apologised to the affected customers for the inconveniences as it urged them to provide their booking details and bank account numbers.
This is coming hours after the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, in a letter to the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Chris Najomo, through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, ordered the airline’s immediate suspension and an audit of its safety and financial health.
The minister said the disciplinary action became necessary after one of its aircraft, Flight 9J0352, with registration number 5N BKI, on Tuesday morning, skidded off the runway of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos which led to a diversion of flights from local to the international airport.
Expressing regret about the suspension of operations by the minister and appreciating its customers’ patience and understanding over the disruption of their travel plans, the airline said, “We would like to assure you that we are processing refunds for affected flights over the next one month.”
“To expedite this process, we kindly request that passengers send their booking details (PNR), and bank account numbers to contact@flydanaair.com,” it stated.
The management assured passengers that it was cooperating with the authorities “to address any concerns and resolve this matter as swiftly as possible,” adding that it is “taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe and seamless travel experience upon return shortly.”
