Lead British International School has suspended academic activities for three days following the viral video of bullying in the school involving some students.
This closure was made known at a press briefing attended by parents in the school premises on Tuesday.
In the video that’s making rounds on social media showed a female student being assaulted by fellow students.
The management of the school has since expressed its disapproval of the incident and confirmed the commencement of an investigation.
The Head of Lead British International School, Abraham Ogunkambi issued a statement on Tuesday, detailing the steps being taken by the school.
“The school management is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness,” Ogunkambi asserted. He added that the school has already been in contact with the victim and her parents, offering support and counseling services to help them manage the emotional and psychological effects of the incident.
Furthermore, Ogunkambi announced that the school would provide counseling and impose disciplinary actions on the perpetrators to correct their behaviour.
A panel has also been set up to investigate the matter and other allegations of bullying within the school.
