The European Union will propose new sanctions against Russia over the death of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, according to a report on Thursday by Bloomberg, which cited a draft of the proposal.
The report indicated that the bloc will also target 35 individuals and two companies.
Bloomberg added that the EU proposes to add several Russian judges, government officials, and prison officials to the sanctions list.
On February 16, Russia’s penitentiary service said Navalny had died in prison, adding that the cause of death was being investigated.
Earlier in March, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin said that Navalny died of natural causes.
