Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Tuesday joined protesting workers in Ibadan, the state capital, who took to the street to express their grievances on the the deteriorating economic situation in the country.

The protest was in compliance with NLC directive to its affiliate members across the country.
NLC had declared a 2-day nationwide strike which was billed for today and tomorrow – February 27 and 28, 2028.

Members of the NLC in Oyo state in compliance to the directive started the protest from their Agodi secretariat, marching towards Mokola roundabout, expressing their grievances with chants like “Ebi npa wa o,” translating to “we are hungry.”
Makinde joined the demonstrators, calling for patience and a peaceful exercise.
He urged all parties to work together to find solutions to the unintended hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal and the high rate of exchange, expressing hope that the situation can be turned transformed for good.
