In a heartwarming display of love and compassion, the lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladipupo Ajomale has celebrated this year’s Valentine’s Day with widows in the constituency.

At a special program held at his constituency office in Ago Palace Way on Wednesday, Ajomale distributed over 200 bags of 25kg rice as well as cash gifts to the widows who were drawn from the 13 wards that formed the constituency.

The widow empowerment is coming few days after the lawmaker distributed free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to over 200 indigent admission seekers in the constituency.

Giving their remarks, APC Chairman in Isolo LCDA, Barrister Gani Bello and his counterpart from Ejigbo LCDA Alhaji Fatai Kasumu, who were among the dignitaries at the event commended Ajomale for the kind gesture noting that his impressive start to life as a lawmaker is not surprising given his personality and antecedents.

The initiative brought palpable smiles to the faces of the widows all of whom could barely express their excitement as they offered heartfelt prayers to the lawmaker.

“I can’t express how elated I am about this gesture by Hon. Ladi. At first, I thought a bag of rice would be shared among two people but to my utmost surprise it’s one each. Given the price of rice now and the cost of living, this is commendable. May God continue to bless Hon. Ladi Ajomale,” said one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Jemila Kazeem.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Basira Ishola described Ajomale as a messiah as she likened his gesture to that of a savior who would not watch his people suffer. She prayed to God to continually direct his path and grant him the wherewithal to remain a beacon of hope.

“What can I say than to pray for Ladi for deeming it fit to show love to the widows in this season. This bag of rice and money has reduced my worries for the next month, at least, as it means I will be able to comfortably feed my family. God will never forsake Hon. Ladi,” the mother of four prayed.

Other dignitaries at the event included the deputy leader and deputy chief whip of Isolo Legislative Arm, Hon. Kanayo Osondu and Hon. Yusuf Agbabiaka, respectively, Hon. Mukaila Ajao, Princess Olateru Olagbegi, Alhaja Muritala and Wale Wale Tonade among others.
