The Coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Branch, Engineer Adigun Ibrahim has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Itunu Shoniregun on her emergence as the Speaker of the Lagos State Youth Parliament.

Shoniregun was elected speaker of the 5th Assembly by her fellow parliamentarians at the inauguration ceremony held on Thursday within the Lagos State House of Assembly complex.

The epochal event was attended by dignitaries and youth leaders across the state.

In his congratulatory message, Adigun remarked that Shoniregun’s emergence was a testament to her exemplary leadership qualities and commitment to youth empowerment and development.

Extolling her virtues further Adigun described her as a passionate advocate for youth inclusion and grassroots mobilization, recalling how she worked tirelessly as a member of the committee that organsied the maiden edition of NYCN Lagos West The Plaudit Award ceremony last October which he chaired.

“The emergence of Rt. Hon. Itunu Shoniregun as the speaker of State Youth parliament gladdens my heart. She is a vibrant youth with an impressive track record of executing and championing various programs aimed at promoting social values and goals,” the statement read in part.

Expressing his hope in the youngest speaker, Adigun, a one-time speaker of Lagos State University Student Parliamentary Council, maintained that he has no ounce of doubt she will live up to the expectations of her new office as he promised to offer qualitative counsel when consulted.

“Owing to her promising capacity, I am positive that Rt. Shoniregun will foster collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity in her leadership approach and ultimately use her office to promote policies and programs that will directly impact the lives and the future of youths in the state. I wish her a successful tenure in office,” the statement concluded.
