The immediate past Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador SararaTunji Isola has mourned the passage of Olori Yetunde Gbadebo.
Theliberationnews reports that the deceased, a widow of the erstwhile Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adesina Samuel Gbadebo II died on Tuesday, 20 February 2024.
Signing the condolence register, the Tayese of Egba Land commiserated with the royal family as he described the late queen as a patriotic mother whose wise counsel will be sorely missed.
His words: “I commiserate with the entire Gbadebo royal family on the demise of their matriarch. Olori lived a fulfilled life with many enviable achievements. A courageous, honest, loyal, diligent, dedicated, religious, forthright, kind, intelligent, wise, tenacious, and focused person.
“Ilugun, Okeona, Egba, Ogun State, and indeed Nigeria will miss the wise counsel of a patriotic mother.
“We looked forward to your 96-year-old birthday on the 29th of February, 2024, but God knows best. Mummy, those omoluabi values you inculcated in us will be cherished forever. Adieu, a great mother.”
