Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has hit the ground running by constituting members of his cabinet on his first day in office.

Ododo who took over from Yahaya Bello following his victory in the November 11 governorship election in the state announced the names of individuals who will form part of the state executive council for the next four years.

Among those whose names weee announced for appointment by Ododo during his Inauguration in Lokoja on Saturday, was Ali Bello whom he assigned the portfolio of Chief of staff to.

Ali Bello is a nephew of Yahya. Bello, Ododo’s immediate predecessor and political father.

Before his appointment, Ali Bello was accused by the EFCC of fraudulently withdrawing over N10 billion from the Kogi State treasury, which they allegedly delivered to a bureau de change operator, Rabiu Tafada, in Abuja, to keep or change to foreign currencies for personal gains.

The matter has been in court for some time now and was adjourned to February 5 and 6 for continuation.
