Hon. Mayowa Alakija, the Education Secretary of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Lagos, has lauded the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon.Monsuru Oloyede Bello Obe, for constructing an additional primary school in the council area.
The school named Akinsanya Ajaloleru Primary School is situated in Oke Afa community of the council area.
Alakija thanked the Chairman for the laudable initiative noting that Oloyede did not only established the school with 12 classrooms on a 4,000sqm land, but he also equipped the school with reading materials which he said would go a long way to enhance the assimilation of the pupils.
In a statement issued by his media office, the education secretary said; “The efforts of the Chairman are commendable and it is worthy of emulation, Over 300 pupils have enrolled to undergo studies in the facility
“The kind gesture came at a time when the State Government is encouraging a conducive environment for learning, calling on individuals to invest in education needs at the grassroots. The administration of Hon Monsuru Obe administration has done a lot to redeem the education sector in Ejigbo LCDA.”
The gesture according to him, was in line with the State Government’s initiative called PROJECT ZERO to ensure no child is left behind in acquiring qualitative education. Every child irrespective of the background must attend Primary school under the basic education system. The newly established school has put smiles on the faces of over 300 pupils and families.
He added that the development has increased the number of Primary schools under Oshodi-Isolo LGEA from 56 to 57 and it will apparently make the authority reach more families and pupils in order to shape their future towards positive part and be useful for the community.
Alakija advised the pupils and the parents in the neighborhood to cultivate maintenance culture on government facilities, so as sustain serene environment for our pupils.
