A 44-year-old man from Osogbo, Mr. Kolawole Olanrewaju, has been confronted with the rudest shock of his life after DNA tests showed he is not the father of his supposed four children.
Via an emotional radio interview, helpless Olanrewaju narrated how he had laboriously fended for the kids: Ayomide, 16, Sarah, 12, and two other kids aged 8 and 5 years, respectively, before deciding to conduct a paternity test after adulterous moves from his wife.
On the radio programme, Olanrewaju shared how he sold his land property, vehicle and other property to take care of the children, only to now discover they were not his. He lamented wasting money on hospital bills and education for children who were not his own.
Mr Olanrewaju said he had so much confidence in his wife Toyin Arike and never suspected anything until nagging from family members made him doubtful. He added that forced him to carry out the DNA test secretly which confirmed his worst fears.
The heartbroken father said he was devastated to learn after over a decade that none of the four kids belonged to him biologically. He warned men to be careful and conduct tests to avoid finding themselves in similar situations.
However, in her reaction, Toyin who is a healthcare worker, refuted the claim arguing that the DNA result can not be trusted.
Her words: “I don’t accept the result. I don’t accept it because I was not there when they took samples, and I don’t know which sample they took, so I don’t accept it. I can’t accept it because I know how I conceived those children.”
It is alleged that a certain Brother Segun is the biological father of the children, but Toyin denied it repeatedly.
