Electorate in Imo State have renewed the mandate of the incumbent Governor, Hope Uzodimma for another four years as he amassed the highest possible votes from the 27 council areas in the state in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

This is according to the results of the 27 LGAs announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, state Collation and Returning officer, Abayomi Fasina, at the INEC’s office, in Owerri, on Sunday.

It was gathered that Fasina has asked for a break which will last for an hour, after which the final results and a winner will be declared.

Next to Uzodimma who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with 523,817 votes is Senator Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 79,438 votes followed by the candidate, of the Labour Party, LP, Senator Athan Achonu who has 63,368 votes.
