Balarabe Lawal, one of the three ministerial nominees whose names were recently put forward by President Tinubu has collapsed during Wednesday’s Senate ministerial screening.

His sudden collapse led to the suspension of the screening process.

Balarabe who served as Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during the Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration was presented to replace the former governor who failed to go through Senate confirmation.

Upon his collapse, Senate President Godswill Akpabio who was presiding immediately called for water and sugar to be administered on him. A panicked Senator Akpabio also immediately called for a Dr. Wale to come to the aid of the nominee.

The incident happened just after the nominee had finished reciting his profile and just when one of the senators from his local Kaduna State was about to ask him the first question.
