Ahead of next year’s Lagos State National Youth Council of Nigeria’s (NYCN) Congress, the coordinator of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye local branch, Comrade Adigun Ibrahim has declared his intention for the coveted state chairmanship seat.

Adigun announced this while delivering his speech as the planning committee chairman of the Lagos West Youth Award tagged The Plaudit held on Sunday at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

While delivering his speech, Adigun appreciated the vice chairman of Lagos West, Comrade Jamiu Ademosu for the privilege to organise the event and commended his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him by way of their support.

He acknowledged the efforts of other members of the committee, volunteers, partners and sponsors for their commitment to the success of the event.

Adigun, whose local branch scooped the Best Local Branch in Lagos West award, announced what he called his modest intention to be the next chairman of NYCN Lagos State Chapter.

Amidst rousing cheers and chants from his fellow coordinators, Adigun said: “Today is a great day and I am grateful to Almighty God for making it so and that is why I want to leverage the auspiciousness to make a special announcement about my modest intention to be the next chairman of NYCN Lagos State Chapter. As you all know that we are yet to commence the campaign for the council election, so at the appropriate time I will make my intention known officially to you all.

“It has been a great honour serving in various capacities of the youth body and commanding great results. I believe we can achieve more and help NYCN Lagos State retain its top spot among the states’ chapters in Nigeria. With your support, we can make this happen. I’ve begun my consultation and I hope I can humbly count on your support when I come knocking for it.

“For now, let’s enjoy the moment, celebrate ourselves, and network.”

The state congress is expected to come up on or before July next year when the current state leadership would have completed its 4-year term.
