A one-time Deputy Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta, Mr. Lekan Sakibu Famuyiwa better known as Baba Fancy, has passed away.
Theliberationnews gathered that Mr. Famuyiwa, a statistics lecturer died on Friday afternoon at the age of 72 at his residence in Abeokuta.
His death was confirmed by his family member who explained that the deceased was full of life this afternoon and that he was still so active on Whatsapp till around midday.
Also, Mr. Lucky Aikabeli, a colleague of the deceased, via a WhatsApp post this evening confirmed his death.
Famuyiwa rose through the ranks to become the deputy rector of the institution as he was a former HOD General Studies Department, MAPOLY,
Director, School of Communication and Information Technology and Director Students Affairs of the institution.
Also, he was the pioneer Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Ogun Poly, now MAPOLY chapter.
Until his death, Famiyuwa was a prominent member of the Abeokuta Club. He was survived by wife, children and grandchildren.
