Popular microblogging app, Twitter, has enforced a temporary measure that reduces the number of tweets an account can read each day.
In defending the development, Elon Musk, the platform’s owner, explained that the decision aims to address issues related to excessive data scraping and system manipulation.
Under the new rules, verified accounts can access up to 6000 posts, while unverified accounts and newly created unverified accounts are limited to 600 and 300 posts respectively.
Since acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk has implemented various changes, the notable of all being the introduction of an $8 monthly fee for users to obtain a blue checkmark.
This development trails Musk’s decision to step down as CEO, with Linda Yaccarino assuming the role three weeks ago.
