Theliberationnews can authoritatively report that the most-anticipated list of President Bola Tinubu’s ministers-nominees will be unveiled in the Senate plenary on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

The list which was expected to be announced on Tuesday was postponed till today after Senate Leader, Senator Bamidele Opeyemi (APC- Ekiti Central Senatorial District), had moved a motion to delay the announcement until Wednesday.

Opeyemi’s motion for announcement of the President’s ministers’ list “until the next legislative session” was seconded by the Minority Leader, Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon (PDP – Plateau North).

The list has been the most-talked-about issue across the country since last week as it has led to suspicion and anxiety in APC’s folds and political leaders across the country.

As times tick faster, the Senate has less than 72 hours to screen the minister designates.

It was gathered that the list, which is expected to be a combination of technocrats and politicians, would have more technocrats who would help drive the President’s Renewed Hope agenda for the next four years.

Recall the Fifth Amendment to the 1999 Constitution mandates the president and governors to submit the names of their ministerial and commissioner-nominees within 60 days of taking the oath of office for confirmation by the Senate or state House of Assembly.
