Ejikeme Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi, Anambra State, has disputed the allegations of result forgery levelled against her by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The board had, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, accused 19-year-old who has been widely celebrated for scoring 362 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), of upgrading her result from 249 to 362.
Benjamin added that the result would be withdrawn while Mmesoma would face prosecution.
Reading on Monday, the pupil said she printed her result directly from JAMB portal, adding that she was not capable of forging her result.
She added that she had always been a brilliant pupil and her brilliance regularly earn her first positions from primary schools.
Mmesoma revealed that she had been invited by the police with her statement taken adding that she was told that investigation was ongoing.
Talking about how she feels, she said she felt traumatised by the incident as she suggested that, “there must be a problem somewhere”.
