Adigun Tasks Students On Discipline At YABATECH Symposium

“Discipline is the nexus between goals and accomplishments”, these were part of the words of Comrade Adigun Ibrahim, the Coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local branch at a symposium organised by the Students’ Union Government of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), on Thursday.

Delivering his speech on the topic: “Positive Discipline and Guidance”, at the event held at the multipurpose hall of the higher institution, Adigun went on to advise the students on self-control among other virtues adding that they are needed to accelerate their growth and the accomplishment of their desires in life.

His words, “Discipline, as a virtue, is one of the hallmarks of living. If you check the lives of every successful individual, living or dead, you will find it. As young folks and future leaders, the onus is on us to make the best for ourselves but, to achieve this we have to be disciplined and imbibe other moralities.

“I can not but attest to the fact that discipline has brought you this far, as students but, to edge closer towards your life goals you have to sustain the spirit and do away with whatever could corrupt your morals and this is where guidance comes in.”

He continued saying, “Guidance and discipline go hand in hand because to sustain your good morals you need to be guided. You get guidance from God, of course and also by reading good books, learning from the elders and mentors, among other ways. I can assure you that by combining these two your future is brighter.

Adigun’s presentation was corroborated by Hon. Adenekan Ibrahim, the councilor representing Ward C2 in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area (LGA) who made a similar speech on the topic.

Acknowledging the insight in Adigun’s presentation, he was presented with an award of recognition by the Students’ Affairs Officer of the institution, Mr. Omopariola.
