Charles Oputa, popular Nigerian entertainer and a supporter of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election, Peter Obi, has thumbed up President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, on his decision to remove fuel subsidy.

Oputa, a socio-political activist, better known as Charly Boy commented that there can not be another time to take the decision than now.

Recall, Theliberationnews reported that the subsidy removal was reechoed by the president during his inaugural speech on Monday explaining the policy has outlived its justification.

The development has, however, led to a hike in fuel prices across the country with the least being N488 and that is in Lagos.

Reacting via a tweet on his official handle, Charly Boy explained that the fight is beyond support for his preferred candidate, but the alleged criminal elements disturbing the country’s economy.

He wrote, “Listen and be informed. Okonjo Iweala bares it all on the subsidy removal. There can be no other time, and the time is NOW.

“My fellow Nigerians this fight is really not about Peter Obi. It’s about the criminals who insist on stealing our national patrimony leaving us poor and hopeless”.
