Obasa’s Historic Re-Election, To Lead 10th Lagos Assembly

-Mojisola Meranda Emerges Deputy Speaker

Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa (Agege I), has been re-elected as the speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly for an unprecedented and historic third term in the political evolution of the centre of excellence.

Obasa’s emergence followed the proclamation of the assembly by the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Obasa’s nomination was made by Hon. Temitope Adewale and seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu.

Upon the unanimous acceptance of the other lawmakers-elect, he was pronounced the speaker of the house.

The lawmakers also elected Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda (Apapa 1) as the Deputy Speaker..

Also, Hon. Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader in the ninth Assembly, was elected as the new Majority Leader while Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu was elected the Deputy Majority Leader.

Hon. Mojeed Fatai of Ibeju Lekki 1 was elected as the Chief Whip while Hon. David Setonji was elected the Deputy Chief Whip.
