In acknowledgment of her brilliance and academic excellence, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has rewarded the overall best-graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2021/2022 academic session, Aminat Yusuf with N10m.
Theliberationnews reported that Yusuf graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 from the varsity’s Faculty of Law, setting an unprecedented record in the university 40 years of establishment.
Announcing the reward at the varsity’s 40th anniversary and 26 convocation ceremony held on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu said: “As a token of her brilliance, I will be giving her a token donation of N5 million and the state government will give her an additional donation of N5 million.”
The state governor also congratulated the university for the double ceremony as he reveled in its achievements among other universities.
While appreciating the governor, Yusuf said she was faced with financial constraints during her study, but was determined and strove towards academic excellence.
