Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken the oath of office and allegiance as the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Amidst pomp and tight security at Eagles Square, Abuja, Tinubu took the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance at 10.37 am and rounded off the process of appending his signature to seal the oath at 10.42 am.
Theliberationnews gathered that as the rituals were going on, former President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, stood behind President Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi.
Earlier, Kashim Shettima had taken his Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance as vice president from 10:32 am to 10:36 am.
The ceremony was followed by the handing-over process.
