The Lagos State Government has distanced itself from news making rounds on the internet that it has opened its portal for graduate internship program.
The disclaimer was contained in a press statement issued by the state Ministry of Wealth Creation and Empowerment on Wednesday.
In the statement signed by the Ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Babatunde Adele members of the public were advised to disregard the false news and be wary of information that does not originate from reliable sources.
The ministry explained that although it is in charge of the exercise but registration for the 2023 edition is yet to commence.
The statement read: “Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has denied social media messages about an ongoing internship programme under its Graduate Internship program in Lagos State.
“The Social Media message which asked unemployed youth with NYSC certificate and LASRRA to register for the ongoing Lagos State Internship program on: gipplasg.lagosstate.gov.ng did not originate from the Ministry.
“Although the Ministry has been in charge of Graduate Internship Programme over the years, it is however, necessary to clarify that the commencement date for 2023 edition of the programme is yet to be made public.
“Members of the public are advised to disregard the social media message on Graduate Internship Programme in Lagos State and desist from re-sharing same message on different social media platforms.
“It should be noted that the Ministry will make official public announcement as soon as the 2023 edition of the Programme is approved using the various social media platforms of the State Government and other communication platforms.
“Again, the general public is advised to always verify the sources of their information before circulating same on the social media in order to avoid creating unnecessary panic among the residents.”
