The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hailed Victor Osimhen for leading Serie A’s Napoli to its first crown in 33 years.
Recall that during the week, the Nigerian international scored the vital goal to secure the much-needed point for the runaway league leaders to be crowned the champions of Serie A. By the goal Osimhen took his tally to 22 goals in Serie A for the Naples.
He, however, added a goal to that on Sunday when he called the lone goal in his side’s victory over Fiorentina.
Taking to his Facebook page to celebrate Osimhen, Tinubu described him as the king of Serie A and commended him for continuing the fine tradition of Nigeria’s footballing excellence on the global stage.
His words: “I think we can all agree that there was another coronation in Italy where our son, Victor Osimhen, claimed the crown as the new King of Serie A! The real deal, or idán gangan as younger folks may describe him; Victor has continued the fine tradition of Nigeria’s footballing excellence on the global stage.’
Tinubu went on to wish the first Nigerian to win the Serie A title well in his footballing exploit.
“We are all proud of him and wish him well in what is already a remarkable career,” the president-elect said. L
