The founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Otunba Subomi Balogun, has died.

Theliberationnews authoritatively gathered that Balogun who clocked 89 years on March 9, died in London on Friday morning.

He was born on March 9, 1934 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria to Muslim parents.

Balogun converted to Christianity while in secondary school. He graduated from Igbobi College and studied Law at the London School of Economics. Before leaving for Europe, he briefly worked as a teacher.

He founded First City Monument Bank(FCMB). The bank is solely his idea and it is on record that he imbued it with a culture of excellence that has endured over time.
