United States President, Joseph Biden, Jr., on Monday, announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to attend the Inauguration of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023, in Abuja.
In a statement sighted on the US Website, the Honorable Marcia Fudge, Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, will lead the delegation.
Members of the Presidential Delegation, Mr. David Greene, Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy Abuja, Honorable Sydney Kamlager-Dove, United States Representative (D), California, Honorable Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, U.S. Department of Commerce, General Michael E. Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command, Honorable Enoh T. Ebong, Director, U.S. Trade and Development Agency, Honorable Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, U.S. Department of State.
Others are Honorable Judd Devermont, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, National Security Council and Honorable Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa, U.S. Agency for International Development.
Theliberationnews reported that preparation for Tinubu’s swearing-in is in top gear, even as the petitions to invalidate his election victory by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi continues at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
The Federal Government disclosed that about 65 world leaders have been invited to grace the inauguration of Tinubu on May 29 and the former president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta will deliver the inaugural lecture on the topic “Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development.”
The inauguration programs will begin on Thursday, May 25, with the investiture of Tinubu with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic and the Vice-President-elect, Kashim Shettima, as the Grand Commander of Order of the Niger.
