It has been an outpour of felicitation for the former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef as the Senate confirmed his appointment as the Chairman of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Sharing the development on his Facebook page on Tuesday, the legal practitioner wrote, “Alhamdulilahi Robbil aalameen. The Senate has just confirmed my appointment as the Chairman of NDIC. May Allah grant me success in this great assignment. Aamin.”

The post has since attracted over four hundred comments as many well-wishers congratulated the former lawmaker on his latest appointment.

“Alhamdulilahi Robbil aalameen. The Senate has just confirmed my appointment as the Chairman of NDIC. May Allah grant me success in this great assignment. Aamin,” wrote, Fatima Abdulrafih.

Another well-wisher, Mopelola Bello said, “Congratulations sir. May Almighty Allah grant you the necessary machineries to deliver excellent. Amen 🙏. Barakallahu Fiha. Aminna”

“Congratulations well-deserved. May Allah continue to strengthen and guide you. You are a source of inspiration on Educational attainment,” wrote Abdul-lateef Babatunde Lawal.

Recall, Theliberationnews reported that AbdulLateef’s appointment was made by President Muhammadu Buhari in January when he ordered the reconstitution of the board.

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning explained that the new appointments and reappointments had become important “to avoid vacuum”.

Dr. Abdullateef, a lawyer, previously served as Member, Lagos State House of Assembly Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, before he was appointed Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Political and Legislative Powers, then later as Commissioner for Home Affairs, Lagos State government.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and holds LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Lagos and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Business School, Netherlands.
