Veteran Journalist and Director, Media and Publicity of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga has told President Joe Biden of United States not to take Chimamanda Adichie seriously with her tribal inspired open letter.
Recall that Adichie had in her Thursday open letter to Biden on The Atlantic titled: ‘Nigeria’s Hollow Democracy’ berated the American president and the UK government for extending hands of fellowship to the president-elect of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the open letter which has since attracted diverse reactions, Adichie faulted the electoral process that produced Tinubu as President-elect and called on the American president to stand up for justice and the rule of law.
However, Onanuga in a tweet on Friday morning described her letter as nothing but fiction written over the loss of her tribe’s man, Peter Obi.
He tweeted, “Dear President Joe Biden, please just trash the open letter by Chimamanda on Nigeria’s election once it gets to your desk. She wrote fiction, inspired by the monumental loss of her tribesman Peter Obi.”
