The United States of America government has given its consent to a planned solidarity gathering on Monday, April 3, by members of the All Progressives Cobgress USA in defence of Nigeria President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate, in what could be said to be a counter move against the planned protest by Peter Obi’s supporters against Tinubu’s deserved victory at the February 25th presidential election.

The US government expressed its consent and approval of the anti-democracy walk billed to hold at the monumental Lafayette Park in Washington D.C as the Tinubu supporers sought the support of the U.S. president, Joe Biden towards ensuring that the outcome of the 2023 general election in Nigeria is not overturned by ensuring a seamless transition of power in May.

They added that the demonstration is against anti-democracy and also to let the world know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is the country’s president-elect.

The solidarity gathering will take place at the same time with the planned anti-democratic protest by the supporters of Peter Obi, as approved by the US Government.

The U.S. government through the Department of the Interior told the organisers and participants of the event to comply with all the reasonable rules of the United States Park Police.

The rules include staying away from obstructing the walkways, sideways, and roadways and allowing for reasonable use of unobstructed use of these areas by pedestrians, vehicles and other park visitors.

All is now set for the peaceful protest walk in the US for Nigeria’s president-elect, Tinubu.
