Foremost Historian of Nigerian descent, Professor Obaro Ikime has dead at the age 86.
The formidable historian was born on December 30, 1936. He died on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at about 5.30 pm in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. Mr. A.M Akpieyi, his protege announced his death to the world.
Akpieyi described the late academic as his mentor, Head of House and Head of School during their studentship days at the famous Government College, Ughelli.
The famous scholar was survived by his wife of over sixty years-Hannah and two sons and a daughter including Mazino, Maino and Majiro.
The late Obaro Ikime was of the 1950 set of the famous Government College, Ughelli in present day Delta state.
