Journalists from various media organizations were Thursday denied entrance to the site of the collapsed seven-storey building in Banana Island, Lagos State.
The reporters had expectedly visited the incident scene to assess the building.
The reporters from various media houses including The PUNCH, Channels TV, TVC, Arise, Guardian and others, have been asked to wait outside the estate gate.
As gathered by Theliberationnews, most of the Journalists said that they have been waiting for over two hours.
Reacting to the reason behind the action, the estate management said, “They don’t want hoodlums to gain access into the estate in order to forestall breakdown of law and order.
The management, however, provided a tent for the waiting journalists.
Banana Island where the seven-storey building collapsed is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Nigeria, home to some of the wealthiest people in the country. Access to the estate can not be gained without getting an access code from a resident.
