Few Days after being announced as the winner of the keenly contested presidential election, the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-Elect, on Sunday was received by a humongous crowd when he visited Lagos.
Tinubu arrived into the hands of a sea of supporters led by the State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and other top functionaries in Lagos who had thronged the Presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja.
The train then proceeded to the Iga-Iduganran Palace where the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, some other traditional rulers in the state and White Cap chiefs were already waiting.
In his humble address, the president-elect described the party primaries and the general election he went through as a World Cup tournament while appreciating God and the people for his eventual victory.
He said his message was one of gratitude but uses the medium to reiterate his commitment to hit the ground running as soon as he assumes office.
Tinubu expressed his appreciation to the revered Oba Akiolu and traditional rulers in the state for their prayers and support.
On his part, Oba Akiolu described the president-elect as a special breed “who is destined for leadership at the very top.”
Other traditional rulers gathered at the palace included Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi, and Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.
