Olumide Osoba, son of elder statesman, former Governor of Ogun state, and Akinrogun of Egba Land, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has been declared winner and returned elected to represent Obafemi/Owode/Odeda/ Abeokuta-North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
Osoba’ victory was announced by Prof. Olubukola Isah, INEC Returning Officer for the constituency on Monday at the Collation Centre in Abeokuta.
Osoba amassed a whopping 43, 446 votes to defeat the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Yemi Coker that managed to score 19,699 votes.
“Olumide Osoba of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” Isah declared.
In a statement obtained by Theliberationnews, Osoba who will be representing his constituency for he third term appreciated his constituents for their unabated trust and confidence in him.
He dedicated his victory to his campaign team, volunteers, family members and friends.
His words: “I could not have been re-elected without you”.
“Above all, I want to thank you, the people of Odeda, Obafemi/ Owode and Abeokuta North for your unwavering support and encouragement.
“It has been a privilege to serve you over the past term and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue doing so,” he declared.
