The Lagos State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi has, on behalf of the party faithful, congratulated the president-elect of the country, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the just-concluded presidential poll.
Ojelabi, in a press statement issued by the party’s publicity secretary, Seye Oladejo described Tinubu’s success as a deserved victory as he acknowledged the widespread support Tinubu recorded in the election.
The party chairman appreciated the electorate, party loyalists and other sympathizers for their unyielding diligence, perseverance, commitment, vigilance and sacrifice in the build-up to the election, during and after.
He went on to express his gratitude to Nigerians at large who, regardless of the challenging times of recent out en-masse to exercise their franchise this was as he acknowledged the all-important role of the electoral umpire; the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the process.
“The electoral body – INEC – the security agencies and other stakeholders will go down in history as midwives to a free, fair, transparent and historic election in Nigeria.
The role of the opposition parties who made a keen contest of the election by providing options for the electorates was significant of tremendous growth in our nascent democracy,” the statement read in part.
The party chairman expressed his confidence that the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not renege on his promises by fulfilling his part of the social contract with all Nigerians as entrenched in his manifesto of Renewed Hope in order to usher in an era of peace, security, prosperity, nationwide growth and our restoration to a place of pride in the comity of nations.
