Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu alongside his Deputy, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat and the speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa on Thursday led other winners of the recently conducted gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections to receive their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The electoral umpire issued certificates of return to Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat and the 40 House of Assembly members led by the its speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Sanwo-Olu who was the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won his re-election by polling 762,134 votes to defeat the candidate of the Labour Party Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who polled 312,329 votes and Olajide Adediran of the People’s Democratic Party who scored 62,449 votes.

For the House of Assembly Seats, APC won 38 out of the 40 seats in the state leaving the Labour Party(LP) with two both in Amuwo-Odofin area of the state.
